Professional winter check

Before the weather turns cold, our service center experts can be relied upon to ensure safe driving through the winter months. We ensure the most important components of your car are in proper working order and generally prepared for coping with the winter – from the window seals

No worries about the winter

Cold weather can create problems for every part of your car – from the battery right through to the rubber door and window seals. We recommend a Bosch Car Service winter check to make sure you do not get caught out in the cold. With the aid of the latest diagnostic equipment we check that a whole range of vehicle components are in proper working order and ready for the winter. This does not just reduce the risk of accidents on icy roads, but also the likelihood of annoying breakdowns on winter holiday journeys. You can find more useful advice on driving in cold weather in our Winter Guide.

Anti-freeze protection for the radiator

The statistics produced every year by European automobile clubs always tell the same story: Time and time again, problems with the cooling system are directly or indirectly responsible for breakdowns. Keeping a regular check on the anti-freeze is just as important as an oil change for ensuring that your car does not beak down along the way. The additives contained in the coolant and ultimately responsible for protecting the cooling system start to lose their effect over the course of time and there is even a danger of freezing in winter. So the coolant should be changed at regular intervals to avoid water pump damage, radiator corrosion, clogged pipes or problems with the engine electronics for example. We recommend regular routine checking of the cooling system at a Bosch Car Service workshop.

Our expert advice

Muscle power in winter? If you take the trouble to treat the rubber seals on the doors and rear lid of your car with a special care stick, you can stop them sticking and being damaged in freezing conditions. Ideal products include talcum powder, glycerine, Vaseline and silicone. And never force a door open if it ever does freeze up, as this could rip the rubber seal and mean having to replace it.
